introducing my dog.
thought i might introduce you to my kelpie maggie. she holds a special little space in my heart. we were given maggie as a christmas gift from my partners sister and brother. actually, maggie wasnt present that christmas day, we got a tiny collar instead. after about...oh...2 seconds of guessing, we realised we were getting a puppy. enter panic. naturally more a cat person than a dog person, i felt a little uneasy. i knew nothing about training dogs and wanted to know nothing about picking up their poop!
all we knew of maggie before we met her was that she was a kelpie. her parents work a farm out in mansfield which sits at the base of mount buller in victoria. we drove out there one sunday, when maggie had turned the legal 8 weeks old, and picked her up. i was smitten by those green eyes. here she is sitting out on our backstep at the ripe old age of 5 months.

wild east
let's start with a play review. i went to the lovely redstitch theatre wednesday night to see 'wild east'. i had high expectations, given that the first redstitch play i saw was nothing short of touching. i hate to admit i was incredibly disappointed. wild east told the story of three people who, over the course of the long 90 mintues, were revealed in all their altered, spiteful glory. whilst i felt there were moments of light humour and the acting was acceptable, i also feel the writing let it down tremendously. not enough realism to carry the jokes, a shift in style late in the piece that threw it into disarray, and a lack of script direction clear enough to make any of their journeys tangible. but don't take my word for it. see it for yourself. after all, theatre should not suffer at my fingertips.

getting started
right. here we go. never had a blog before. truth be known, i'm already useless at it. i can't seem to get photos up, my colours choices are nothing short of bland and i've spent the last half an hour trying to change my font style. *sigh* but, i'm here. and that's all that matters. i suppose i should give some indication of what one can expect to read on this site. i figure i might just go with the flow. see what pops up. rant. rave. vent and repent. whatever comes to mind. so, without further adieu, i welcome you to my musings...
